Allied Health Partner Network

Your expertise. Our medical support. One connected patient journey.

You already know your patient. Velora HealthConnect works alongside allied health professionals to provide accessible medical assessment, investigations and ongoing medical care when a patient's needs extend beyond their practitioner's scope. Our role is not to replace the care you provide. It is to help connect the medical and allied health components of your patient's care.

Introduction

Better connected care starts with better collaboration.

Patients don't always fit neatly within one area of healthcare. A physiotherapist may identify persistent fatigue or poor recovery. A dietitian may be working with a patient whose metabolic health requires further investigation. An exercise physiologist may identify symptoms that warrant medical assessment. A psychologist may recognise physical health concerns that require GP involvement.

Velora HealthConnect provides a pathway for allied health professionals to connect patients with medical care while continuing to remain involved in their care.

You continue providing the care you specialise in. Velora HealthConnect provides the medical layer around it.

When to connect

Sometimes something needs further medical investigation.

Consider connecting a patient with Velora HealthConnect when you identify a concern that may benefit from medical assessment.

Persistent or unexplained symptoms

Fatigue, persistent pain, poor recovery or other symptoms requiring broader medical assessment.

Weight & metabolic concerns

When medical assessment may complement nutrition, exercise and behavioural intervention.

Menopause & hormonal concerns

Symptoms associated with perimenopause, menopause or other hormonal concerns requiring medical assessment.

Musculoskeletal & recovery concerns

Injury, persistent symptoms, poor recovery or mobility concerns where broader medical assessment may be appropriate.

Pathology

When medical assessment may identify a clinical indication for blood testing or other pathology.

Imaging

When symptoms may warrant medical assessment to determine whether diagnostic imaging is appropriate.

Cognitive concerns

Memory changes, difficulty concentrating, brain fog or other cognitive symptoms requiring medical evaluation.

Chronic & complex health concerns

Persistent or overlapping symptoms where broader medical assessment and coordinated care may be beneficial.

All investigations and treatment decisions are made independently by the treating Velora HealthConnect clinician following individual clinical assessment. A referral does not guarantee that a particular investigation, medicine or treatment will be provided.

Two-way collaboration

A network should work both ways.

Velora HealthConnect patients may also require allied health support. Depending on their individual needs, this may include physiotherapy, exercise physiology, dietetics, psychology, podiatry, pelvic health or other allied health services. As the network grows, it can help our clinicians identify suitable allied health options for patients requiring additional support. Patient choice and clinical appropriateness remain central to every referral.

Do I receive a commission for referring a patient?

No. The network is designed around clinical collaboration rather than payment for referrals.

Does my patient have to use Velora HealthConnect?

No. Patients remain free to choose their healthcare providers.

Can I request pathology or imaging?

You can provide Velora HealthConnect with your clinical observations and referral question. A Velora HealthConnect clinician will independently assess the patient and determine whether pathology, imaging or other investigations are clinically indicated.

Will I receive the patient's results?

Where there is an appropriate basis for information sharing and it is clinically relevant, Velora HealthConnect may communicate relevant information to you. The patient's entire medical record is not automatically shared.

Can Velora HealthConnect refer patients back to my practice?

Velora may identify patients who require allied health support and can provide appropriate options. Participation does not guarantee referral volumes and patients retain freedom of choice.

Can multidisciplinary practices join?

Yes. We actively encourage practices with multiple allied health disciplines to join.

What happens if my patient needs urgent care?

The Allied Health Partner pathway is not an emergency service. Patients requiring urgent or emergency assessment should be directed to the appropriate emergency or in-person service.
